A Second Betta

I have become obsessed with bettas! I've never been more attached to a fish before

 
 
Sam is doing really well living in his tank with Eddie the snail.
 

 

 
 
My other tank was housing a few balloon mollies and 2 catfish.. now all but 1 of the balloon mollies have died. 
I'm thinking its too small of a tank to keep balloon mollies (now that I've done more reasearch)
my friend owns a much larger tank and she is going to keep my remaining molly.
 
So I was thinking I'd turn the tank into another fighter tank

 
 
question is though can I keep my two catfish? one is a peppered cat fish and the other is an albino catfish they are quite small.
Would the fighting fish bother them? 
 
 
And I'm assuming its safe to add the betta into the tank when its already been up and running for months with a filter already going?
 
Oh and the tank is 28L

hmmm well mollies arent suitable for anything below 15,20 gallons so there the first problem. I see you have a cory which needs a school of 6 and a bigger tank of course. And third you have a bubbler so keep in mind water changes need to be increased than that of with a filter.

there are 2 catfish in there yes.
I do have a filter running, along with a air pump. and yes I realize now that mollies need a bigger space which is exactly the reason I am giving him away.

oh sorry i didnt see the filter. then yes you could have 2 bettas in there with a divider if you wanted too.

That's okay. Sorry i was not that clear ive already got a fighter but he has his own tank so the new fighter would live in this one..

Be careful with your decor as some of it looks like it could tear fins.  A good way to test this is to take a piece of a nylon/pantyhose and run it over the plants and decor.  If the nylon snags, so will fragile betta fins.  Does your current betta tank have a cover/lid?  If not, you need to get one.  Lowering the water level is not a sure fire way to prevent your boy from ending up in the floor from jumping.
 
Your other tank will work just fine for a betta.  You will need to rehome your catfish though as they need groups of 6 to be happy plus they need a bigger tank as well. Even with the tank up and running for a while it is still a good idea to test the water parameters with a test kit to make sure everything is good.

Unfortunately, your tank is too small for you to keep the Corys
They need a sand substrate and also a bigger tank and bigger school numbers (of their own species)
The minimum tank size for them is 30 gallons.
 
As WildBetta said, be careful with some of your ornaments in the tank. They may tear a Bettas fins.
 
Bettas love resting on silk/live plants so if you added some silk/live plants then you would have a very happy Betta
