If you pull on an apistia little bits will still hold to the rock and grow into new apistia right, Well, if an apistia moves itself it doesnt break up into little pieces it simply detaches itself like a good little anemony should, now if you were to take a small plastic bag like, say one of those little bags that you get fish in and then put it around the offender and hold it in place (maybe with a righ of rocks or lead plant wieghts) it might make then anemony uncomfortable and encourage it to go looking for a better place to live. once it gtes moving it will climb up the sides of the bag and you can pull out the bag with the intact anemony inside of it then toss the offender in to the garbage bin or FO tank or werever you feel it belongs, in theory anyways.

What do those of you who keep reefs think of the idea? anyone willing to give it a try?

Thanks, Opcn

P.S. I think this would be especially useful for nano tanks were there might not be room in the tank or budget for a pepermint shrimp and injecting hot water/ lemonjuice/joes juice/Kalk can throw the tank perams enought to kill expensive residents.

thats a very basic idea, saves you going thru a heap of trouble, i wouldnt have thought of it,
Good idea man.

well, the idea would be to get it somewere were it cant retract, but if it were to retract it would only do so temporarily, probably, and later , after the water in the bag gets a bit stale, it would get moving trying to get out of the bag.

the theory does work, i have used a plastic tube cut in 2 down the middle the placed over the offending area for a couple of days and hey presto they all moved onto the tube witch then i washed them off ready for the next lot, the only thing is the pipe looks ugly in the tank but if you want to get rid i think its a good idea :)
