That's nasty, rude and unnecessary. There are ways of getting your point across. And an obnoxious "holier-than-thou" attitude is not one of them.
I'll stick my hand up and say that:
- Chat is not for me. I've tried it, and don't use this facility on any forum (fish or non fish related) I belong to (don't ask me what I'm doing on this thread then - I'm pointing out why I'm not using it and why other people
may not be using it too)
- SLC has some very valid points and most I entirely agree with. Though I disagree that discussing in-depth (aquatic related) science subjects via chat is feasible.

And let me say that I feel terrible, absolutely terrible about annoying you with stuff you aren't being forced to read. And really, this does have to do with the personal announcements forum; geo7x would like to see it occur only in the chatroom, I don't support that idea and wanted to voice my oppinion with regard to the matter, but again I'm sorry I annoyed you.

completely off topic, this has pretty much nothing to do with all of that (which may i point out, is in discussion on another thread, waytogo, you just dragged it in here and have disrupted the point im trying to get across) this is just to do with trying to get the link fixed for the convenience of members, i just put in about the general chat thing as another reason to get the chat link fixed and that maybe some other people might see it as a suficient alternative.

replaced, i just want some simple opinions on the matter, and really want admin to take this into consideration, and do his best to sort out the problem.
For some reason, some people cant seem to understand that i am trying to help the situation by getting chat fixed so that people can perhaps chat in there? but another reason is mainly because it has gone
far too long with not much recognition as far as i have seen and heard.
i have to agree with feeshy when she said "
Drop It", why cant people just accept that there will
not be an announcements forum, there has been loads of evidence given about why we cant, and not much on why we should, cant you just accept that?

cant you see that i was trying to help the situation here? I thought it was clear that we wont have an announcments/chat forum, so i suggested an alternative to you. its better than nothing so i thought you would have appreciated that, but maybe i shouldnt have tried to help you at all
Yes it works great for that but lets be realistic, for announcements (which was mentioned as the intent for the original post) it would never be effective.
well that means youre not going to get youre announcements forum at all then if youre going to reject my suggestion,
we are not having an annnouncements forum on tff, end of.
