I'm thinking about getting a Plec to go in with an Oscar and 9 Silver Dollars in a 6' x 2' x 1.5' tank. I'm looking for one which doesn't get larger than 12" and is likely to be active during the day.. Any suggestions?

I was thinking perhaps a common plec? Do they tend to be active? I had a king tiger a little while ago which just stayed hidden all day long which I didn't like, so would like to avoid that.

i have a common
he comes out quite often to change his hiding spot
he was in a small tank when i got it (thats why i got him/her) so he might just be loving all the room
if you get one i would get a healthy one of the forum which is in to small of a tank cos trust me they love you for it! well mine did

Thanks for the suggestions.. I forgot to update this.. I ended up getting a Royal Panaque. I found a lfs nearby which had one in, did some research and decided to go for it! I know he could get larger than 12" but I couldn't resist!
