A Penny For Your Thoughts.....

All but the java fern require medium to high light.

If I knew what I know now I would have just bought rhizome plants, anarchin and made caves. Growing plants is sometimes easy and sometimes difficult. It can be difficult for sometimes algae is a constant battle. The rhizome plants grow slow and are more expensive than stem plants but are easier to grow and take care of. If they get algae on them you can easily take them out and spritz them with seachem flourish excel. If I had done this I wouldn't have had to upgrade my light and start using ferts. Possible it is difficult for me because my water has buffers in it.

I wouldnt reccomend them for a begginer. Perrsonally i would stick to anubias, java fern, mosses, hygrophillia sp, moss balls, cryptocoryne sp, echinodorous sp, marsilea sp etc.

Thanks, thats what I thought. I've got plenty of LFS in the area I can get plants from and the prices are pretty good.

you already have testaments on the plants for a beginner, but i wanted to add my 2 cents about the seller from Ebay..............So far i have bought 4 orders from this guy and all his plants have done well for me and thrived......All have arrived alive and no problems with anything........His shipping is very reasonable.........

You would probably get more plants if you bought from someone at a forum. If you just want a few then go to LFS.

I want to start out with a few and possibly work my way up. I've never kept more than one or two live plants before. I'm going to try and build my own LED lighting and have been doing alot of research on the subject lately. Not much else to do since my tank is STILL not cycled

I guess I'll just see how green my thumb is before I jump in with both feet.

The local Petsmart has quite a few plants in stock at pretty reasonable prices.

BTW, does anyone live in the MPLS/ST. Paul area that would be interested in selling me some?
