A Newcomer To The Forum

Hello,

My name is Ophélie, 24, I live in Canterbury, Kent, and we will have our new tank today. It is quite a big one : http/cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=320679296108&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT

I used to have a fish tank a few years ago, then went to travel, and now that I am setteled again, I'm very excited to have one again. I know the tank is huge, and some people might think it would be best to have big fish, but I love guppies, so it will be a communal tank including guppies.

I understand that on this forum, a lot of people are from UK? I joined a very nice forum last night, but most people are from USA, and I thought it would be nice to be on a froum with people close by to maybe exchange some fish/plants...

Hi everyone, I took some pictures of the aquarium once filled up.

We cleaned the filters as advised by the previous owner. But now I am not sure if it was a good idea because I read that we shouldn't have, unless in the aquarium's water? It was really really dirty, and smelly.

great looking tank! if the filter has been sitting out of water for ages, then the bacteria was probably dead and u were fine to clean it out. if it was really really stinky, that sounds like it needed a good clean!
