Can someone tell me what color this girl is. Also if I breed her to a copper male what color offspring might I get?
Thanks in advance! Norm

Its been living with a male for 2 days nowdont have to get more pics I am 99.9% sure that is male. the only 100% way to be sure is to place it in a divided tank super condition it and see if it evenutaly drops eggs or not. do not however drop that fish in with another male.

if it is a male then its by pure luck more than anything but i would serperate them and wait for this one to develop a bit more to determine sex. Male and females should only be put together under strict supervision for spawning purposes only. They dont breed like guppies. they have the abililty to kill if the conditions are not right.I put this fish in my 29gal community tank which Ive always keep a male in, thinking it was a female. If there is any reason a male and female shouldnt be kept in an aquarium like that I wish someone would please tell me....At any rate we are going on 3 days now without so much as a nipped fin.
modaz, Im glad to have the answer to my original questions,(color and genetic traits the offspring might have).Thank you so much! But since there seems there is a large consensus as to the true sex of this fish, it raises a couple questions for me:
Does the ovipositor I am seeing mean nothing at all? And, why are these two bettas getting along so peacefully in the tank which Ive described above?
Thanks for your time
