A Hypothetical Situation Involving Ich, What Would You Do?

But when you move them back from bucket or qt they still have the disease. It wont solve anything after 3 weeks go by.

Only fish are susceptible to ich so no inverts and amphibians wouldn't have the disease, since they physically can't get it. The free swimming stage could be in the water, but a couple water changes and a couple days later with no host its not going to survive.

I have heard other wise... that it will multiple quickly even with 1 strand.  The whole moving fish around doesn't appear to be the best call. Ill just keep jacking the heat up.

Each to their own. There is always more then one way to do things. I've dealt with this same scenario in way I described and it worked just fine. Ich needs a host or it will die out quickly, that host must be a fish. It has no hibernation stage.

you transfer inverts and amphibians into large bucket/container(ie plastic bins can usually hold water just fine). Either give some mature media, plants, or change water regularly in said container. You then treat the tank and fish. Once fish are all clear and medicated water has been removed you transfer inverts and amphibians back.

Each to their own tho, use whatever method best suits you. I dislike the heat method and have always used copper to treat ich for years, its worked for me and thats all really.

I used QuICK Cure for when my betta got ich, not sure if that would be suitable for the fish you have or not.

I have used this Kordon Ich stuff for a week and still seeing it... sigh

Going to try Mardel Quick Cure.  Good reviews overall, lets see if it works.
