A home for these fish should be how large?

FOr those fish i would say you will need a tank that is $0 gallons or better. There are other factors to consider that being the surface space ie. is it a long tank or a high tank but to house the fish you have mentioned at their adult size the minimum would be a 40 gallon US tank. I have not considered the compatibility of your fish selections just the adult size. I believe there may be some issues with the male gouramis and i do not know if there are specific issues with the puffer as i have never owned one. HTH :)

Do you mean each fish by themselves or all of them together?

There are huge compatibility problems if you want those fish together.
They live together already. In a 90 gallon with many other fish. Those are just the ones that I am getting.

My friend is moving and giving them away. I picked these out and the rest are guppies, neons, and zebra. I think that she's got a algea eater that looks like a little tiny eel and mollies too.

Her tanks is always very clean and the fish have been together for about 2 years at least.

ETA: However, I'd be willing to follow your advice if I need to split them up.

Anabatoids are generally considered to not be compatible with one another, possible exceptions for very large tanks with lots of hiding places and territories. This means that gouramis, bettas, and paradisefish should not be kept together although sometimes people get lucky and it works out ok.

I guess that her 90 gallon is a good home for them then since its planted.

So, I guess I'll have to choose between the paradise fish and gouramis to go in my 30 us gal tank. The female betta will be put in their own 20 us gal tank. I will probaly add the 3 zebra to that tank as well.

Well, I found more information on the Paradise Fish and I think that this is why she had her tank setup with all those fish.

Paradise Fish are best kept in a group with at least four Paradise Fish.

Good tank mates for Paradise Fish are Blue Gouramis, Gold Gouramis, Opaline Gouramis. A group of at least 6 Tiger Barbs. All Danios. All Rainbows. A school of Clown Loaches. One Red Tail Shark or one Rainbow Shark. A school of Bala Sharks.
Click here to read more about several other groups of compatible fish.

Size and Life Span. Paradise Fish can grow to at least 3.5" and live for several years.

I will take 5 Zebra Danios, 4 Paradise fish, 3 Blue Neon Dwarf Gouramis, 3 Gold Barbs, 3 Panda Corey, and 1 fresh water Puffer for my 30 US gal aquarium.

I will leave my 20 US gal as a "hospital" tank in case I need it.

ETA>>I will use cannister and bio-wheel filtration. I will run a 4 week fishlss cycle as well.

Now, I am researching what water testing kit to buy.
