Just a few questions!!

1) I brought my tank as a FO set up slowly adding little bits the salt he gave me is running low (Red Sea Salt) Is it a good salt or do i need to change it?

2) I know hermits change shells. What do snails do???? (my teacher used to say no Q's a silly Q's MAYBE NOT THIS ONE)

Cheers everyone

1) Red Sea makes a good salt

2) snails eat algae, detritus, and can keep the glass/sand bed somewhat clean. They recycle nutrients basically.

Sorry i meant how do they grow in their shells. Hermits change for bigger shells what snails do?

im pretty sure that they dont change their shells, the shells grow with them

This is why they have spiral shaped shells (in most species at least; they lost me with cowries), so that the shell can be easily enlarged as the animal grows. They simply add a new layer to the opening. If conditions change in the snail's lifetime, the rings will often be different colours, and the contrast can be quite striking.
