Geez they are difficult to get pics of. Before I had a small digital camera that they actually didn't mind, but that broke and now I have a huge Olympus and they dart off if it's anywhere near the tank. So I only have a few pics. Not really group pics, because someone always got left behind when they darted off. I have 5 ordinarly Sterbai, 6 Albino Sterbai, 4 Concolors, 6 black C. Aeneus, 5 Trilineatus and a number of pandas (our original group of 5 and a number of their fry who are now adults).

One of the braver ordinary Sterbai

I wasn't able to get pics of the pandas. They're very shy and were just blurs in the pics.

Hope you like them
:D

Great pics. I really like the albino sterbai. (ive only seen them once in Aus) Love the first pic. Sterbai gotta be my favorite. So clear and colourful, great quality photo.

Thanks all. They are gorgeous this lot. Very active and a definite plus for our 2 tanks.

Barracuda, both pics are of the same Concolor. It just moved while I was taking pics. But they are huge. I'd say all 4 have reached at least 6cm!! They look like monsters compared to the rest of the cories. Thankfully cories are peaceful fish.

Not all cories are peaceful, some are territorial

For example: Corydoras semiaquilus males will sqaubble over territory. Now they arent aggressive to other fish, just to males of their own kind :good:

Hi AlexAndCarmen,

Nice groups of Corys you got there.
It is interesting to hear that your Pandas are shy since mine are bold as can be. Then again I have 10 adults and self-reared 5+ young in the 10G pretty much by themselves. Not to mention the jungle of Java Moss so I suppose they have more confidence that they can dash and hide in a second if they have to. BTW, I am debating to move them all to bigger tank since it is getting crowdier. But this set up was working well for them for several month. Producing eggs non-stop but lately it became sporadic so maybe it is time for change of scenary.
So far, my group of C.Duplicareus(they sit in the back behind something, hardly see them) and the group of C.Green Laser(suppose to be wild caught) was the shyest. But since I moved C.Green Laser with young C.Similis and C.Albino Sterbai with them, they are much less cautious than used to be. Although it was suppose to be temporary while I strip their tank for change of substrate. But I may leave them together for now. Until they become old enough and start making eggs. Then, I will give them their own tank again, I think.
I did see the C.Concolor at the local store like few years ago. (That was back then when I had C.Pandas only with like 2 tanks. But I don't think I saw them since then. Now I don't mind having group of those. Now I have 10 groups of Corydoras and like 18 tanks. )

Of course, I don't mind having C.Black Aenues but I just can't afford $20 fish(that seems going rate in U.S for these fish. Especially after spend about $15 including shipping for C.Green Laser. So far, they are the most expensive fish among my fish.) -_-

Nice fish... I like them all, but the black is still my favorite!
If the black ones came in a long fin version... I might just have to sell something! Hmmm... house... cars... kids...
No wait... I can't sell the house. I need that to keep the fish tanks in. :shifty: I might better keep my kids too. I kind of like 'em. I guess that means the blazer is in danger!

Love the pics! :good:

I thought trilis had more of a yellow/gold color to their body...
Is this the normal coloring?

Thanks again all :good:

They are a handsome bunch.

Barracuda
Yeah, I've heard about some of the more territorial types, kinda forgot about them when I was replying.

Neoncory
Our panda's never used to be that shy. But Alex put a log in the tank with Java fern growing like mad on it, and since they've adopted that as their spot, they don't really like coming out, only to eat. They do dart off if they see us, not sure what's changed with them. Last year they also bred non stop and we sold all the fry to the LFS's around here. I kept a few which I was fond of, but there were also a few that we didn't know about who survived in the main tank. Thankfully my Black cories were no where near 20 dollars a cory. Sp00ky had them at a good price and with postage, it was really well worth it.

I know what you mean. Sometimes you see a cory and you'll sell everyone and everything just to get them. We've been collecting our lot for about 18 months now. And they've all been worth the wait. All the Trilineatus cories I've seen have been a shiny white with black patterns. Not seen a yellow/gold one before. Were they pics you saw of them with that colouration?

Thanks again.

You know, I think I know how to fix that problem(if that is a problem). I bet you will see them more often if you put some current creating powerhead. I find most corys if not all I have like to swim against in the current, especially Pandas. So depends on where you set it and how the current goes, that is where the most of the Panda gonna be surfing against the water. And most of the eggs gonna be laid near the water outlet also.

BTW, I found 68 eggs this morning, 12 on the glass and rest in the Java Moss but most of the eggs were near the water from the powerhead hit. I think this was most eggs I found in a day. I guess they really liked the white wormy things fell off from the sky yesterday. :shifty: Since I didn't find any eggs from them for a week, I figure they need something special.
Now if only I can persuade my C.Duplicareus and Orange Laser to leave me some eggs.

how many should i have in a 80 gall. i got 1 so far :p

Hi

What other fish have you got in your tank? As long as you have placid, community fish, you could have a nice group. It also depends on how many other fish you have. You really should try get more cories, they need their own kinds company and a group of 4-5 is best. What kind of cory is it??

;)
