A Crazy Fact, But Is It True?

brightness down

make sure you switch of wifi completely

also, enter an application, then hold the home button down for around 10seconds, it will close any background battery wasting apps =]

Whats the home button? The button on the bottom of the itouch? - I dont normally turn the wifi off completly also, so I will do that.

And do you think I can get the software thats out in a few days for my ipod 1st gen?

I never turn off my itouch and it lasts easily for a week and I listen to it all the time. I listen on +1 (one touch of the side button from mute) unless in loud situations and always have wifi on I have a map of local hotpsots/ home networks which are free to access now which my itouch automatically updates my emails from as I drive past rather useful. I play jelly car all the time between lecture as well and it never runs out. One issue is that the speaker no longer works and it takes a couple of tries to get the headphones to play so I am sending it in soonish (firmware update didn't help). Another very good app is the itunes remote I find it very useful and if your comp is on all the time its very helpful, I have the benefit of having 3 computers each connected to the surround sounds in the house so I can just walk into a room connect and go.

my dad came in and complained at the apple store even though my ipod was out of warranty by 3 months, as i was only getting 1-2 hours battery life =/

next week we got a call form apple care and offered a brand new ipod in exchange! i was amazed!
See now that really annoys me!

I always used to hate apple products, since there are always cheaper alternatives out there with more features.

But when I caved in and bought a 3rd gen nano (which I loved), it stopped working a few days before the warranty was out.

Got a refurbished one through the warranty, which had a 3 month limited warranty or something like that, it broke a couple of days after the limited warrenty was out.

So I decided to buy my brothers one off him cheaply, since he doesn't use it (he has an iPod Classic). It was only just out of it's warranty too, but had been in a drawer for 6 months+. It broke the same way, for no real reason. I keep my iPods in cases and am very careful with them.

I emailed and called Apple to leave complaints, but all I got was "there's nothing we can do".

TBH, I probably will buy a new iPod at some point, they are very nice to use. But for the past few months I've been using a £3.50 (including p&p) mp3 player off eBay and it's worked perfectly - playing music, and not breaking.

I both hate and love Apple.

Rant over.

I had the same problem, I had boughten my brothers iPod 2 GB nano from him. He had it for like 2 years, no problems. It last me 2 months. The warrenty was still good. They have me the new 8GB Nano Chromatic ( WOHOO!) in my favorite color, orange. I was in love. But, all of a sudden it wouldnt turn on anymore. Took it back, got a new one. Same thing happend. This went on for a while. So, eventually I just used the iPod's credit at best buy and paid the differnce for the 8GB iTouch 2 G . That was in Jan. It's June, no problems. I don't know what the problem was, but it's fixed, and I am once again, in love with Apple.

new iphones wayyyy overpriced and hardly any different from the 3G so i wont be.
