oooo... i actually really like the appearance of the "poacher's gun" with the spindly barrel and broad stock. kinda old fashioned looking to my untrained eye

What is the price William I might be interested. If we can get them shipped here.

I cant see your picture that you have posted for some reason..

That sucks not being able to have guns. Hey Tolak I got some more nice guns... When I find you the links I will post them they are very nice. I am starting to have a nice collection of Kimbers now.

er, that story is about 2 inches away from being a marvelous piece of evidence in favor of gun control. what if he was innocent? what if (because he was innocent) he made a sudden move to escape and you shot him dead, unarmed, and defenseless in your living room? beyond the legal repercussions, i would think the sense of personal responsibility for that action would be overwhelming.

since he was guilty and you did not shoot him, but merely kept him "at bay" until the police came, that is pretty good evidence in favor of citizens being allowed to carry arms. well done for upholding the rule of law and restraining your vigillante impulses.

i have to say, that when it comes to gun control laws, i am more bothered by the mentality of many gun owners than i am by their actual guns. some mental states are disturbing regardless of the weaponry in accompaniment.

good posting

im sorry to be a miserable european so & so...........but i just watched a documentary last night about the slaughter at colombine high school so i dont get the 'loving guns' thing at all....................................... :-(

there's a fine distinction between loving guns and loving violence. i personally am irresistably attracted to kitchen gadgets but i don't cook at all :p you can't generalize that all people who are into guns are also drawn to murdering their peers in a fit of rage. just like you can't generalize that all young men who play violent video games are stupid enough to re-enact said games in real life.

ultimately, guns are highly specialized pieces of equipment that require a certain degree of familiarity and training to use safely. from that perspective, they are not really different from say bulldozers or motorcycles. the biggest distinctions lie in the fact that guns are designed to wound animals, are cheap/easily transported, and are Constitutionally protected.

This is a most interesting topic (not interesting enough to read all 7 pages mind you so if this has already been mentioned I apologise) but whilst agree that Americas gun culture is out of control I agree with having them as a hobby buty even more so as a form of protection.

Having lived in Glasgow for many years the knife culture is scary, so many people have horrid scars all over their face from being slshed or "chibbed" or "tanned" as its known its very frightning.
When I used to get my bus home from work Id be lucky to make a whole face from the 10 people standing the line with me....they all seemed to have bits of their faces missing!

Ther was a farmer in the uk who had his farm broken into repeatedely and decided he'd had enough, one day he caught two people in his own house with the sole intention of taking the things HE had worked for and EARNED....he shot and killed one of them, them other was wounded in the leg.
He was Jailed for he what he did and I think that is wrong.

I think in the UK a clear message needs to be spelled out that "This is MY house, full of MY things that I work hard for. If you enter without my permission and attempt to steal them I may use deadly force.....you have been warned"....if some smelly b*stard then decides to break in to attempt to steal my things then they deserve what they get.

The decision is made on THEIR part, not mine....I would have been happy staying in bed!.

If I was awoken at night with someone in my house and I would feel that the lives of my wife, my unborn child and myself were threated I fear I wouldnt be able to stop myself if I got hold of them.
If they choose to break in a steal MY things.....on you go lads, but if I catch you at it I'll be replacing my patio the very next day, with you under it.

I dont agree with Americas gun laws but I agree with the fact they are allowed to protect themselves if they feel their life is threatened....here in the UK we get stuck in jail for it.

A fine line I agree.

We haven't got a gun but we have a large sword! Bought many years ago as an item of interest that's all. Would we defend ourselves with it? You bet. Not me personally, I can hardly lift it! :) We do have an air rifle as sadly we have to shoot the rabbits when they burrow near the house.
