A Clown Loach Tank? Ideas?

Oh yeah you could do a really nice asian/indio tank with Etroplus canarensis - dats sound awesome as well :)

cheers for the comments. I hadn;t thought of them bnut have always wnted a spare tank to fill with Boesmani rainbows as I love them, would they be too big and compromise the amount of clowns I could have?

I'll have to check Preacox out see what it looks like

my external is prety pwerful anway but would they benefit from an extra powerhead in there to give a fair amount of water flow for the clowns?

Powerhead(s) in my view would always be included in tank holding clown loaches, plecos, and or catfish. Many of these fish appreciate moderate to strong current.
I have currently, three clown loaches, spotted Raphael catfish, and electric Blue jack Dempsey in a 75 gal filtered with two Marineland Emperor 400's and a older Aquaclear 804 powerhead attached to prefilter. Lots of large pieces of driftwood, fine gravel, large pieces of flagstone resting on or against the wood ,and also large, smooth riverstones. Temp is 80 to 82 degrees F with twice weekly water changes of 50 percent.
I wish I had a tank as large as yours. Good luck with the loaches.

Etroplus canarensis are nice fish, probably hard to find though, im not sure if they have become more common now, not something i have ever looked into, though they only get to around 5" so may not be suitable to house with a dat, but would be good with clown loach's and the rainbows!

cheers for responses funny enoug I have two powerheads which I was selling and am keeping now, the external on this tank is pretty ferocious current wise as well!!

just need someone to buy the red bellies now

Good to see you're gonna do this!! Know you've been mentioning it for a while :)

You could use those two powerheads to make yourself a river tank manifold - I think this is something I'm going to try in my new big tank as it essentially makes the tank into a little section of river :p Very cool and know the clowns would adore it!
