Reading all the GOOD Pet store stories, makes me want to go check up on my little finned friends. I posted last week about the WALMART that had a bunch of lillte girls in way too little space. Bettamomma called, and they said they would take care of it. I have been afraid yo go back, and find out that tey haven't. These stories have given me some hope, and I may just have to go look in on them. :D

Yeah, I talked to one of the 2 aquatics people at our Walmart today about their Ich problem in the goldfish... turns out she's getting PO'd because they haven't gotten ANY aquarium salt in forever. They are aware though... and I told her about the good Walmart and told her she should take a visit there. Bare-bottom tanks are good. WAY easier to clean. No nasty looking gravel. She said she'd pass it along to her manager cause she thinks it's a good idea.

I am going to Walmart tomorrow (don't get there often since it is an hour away) and I will let you guys know how it is.

Last time I was there they had packed in these massive 3 inch goldfish into what looked like an 7-8 gallon tank. At least 15 of them, they could barely move.

Other than that, very clean tanks surprisingly, except their bettas :( I have two spare tanks so I may be tempted to rescue a couple guys... :(

Also LPS is actually worse, not cleanliness wise (though their bettas do look very sad, what with their clamped fins), but "common sense" wise. I found my first lady betta in a GOLDFISH!!! tank, hovered in the corner. She was probably not even 4 months old

Bring a camera. Seriously. Take pictures of the awful conditions and send them to BettaMomma for her petition thingy. There is no reason they can't hire someone to take care of the fishes.

i have to sneak my dads digi out of the house and take pics of mine  horrible... btw my dad wont let me go to WM anymore seeing as how all my fish from there have died :D he told me never EVER to go back (mainly cause he doesnt want me crying over dead fish i didnt know and sickly ones)

Watch out, daudy. Stores will get MAJORLY p/o'd if you bring a camera into their stores. You could get in some pretty deep trouble. A friend of mine had to dart out of a grocery store and run away because she took pictures of the aisles. Camera phones are a lot less obvious. If you do bring a digi, be careful.

haha, you sound just like my kind of person. What are laws, anyways?

i am gonig to go to every wal mart around here to look for a CT i want one sooo bad! none of the lps or lfs have them around here . i am excited. just what i need... another fish!

I actually told our Walmart aquatics person they should order them, and she said she would love to! So she's looking into it. So if they don't, talk to someone. Get some great-looking CTs!
