So Saucy and I went to our uber fish store in Milwaukee tonight because I was bored and bought a couple really sweet bettas. Turns out they keep a TON of extra bettas in the back, so we got the great pick of them. I got myself another red crowntail, and she got a really cool-looking marble doubletail with blue eyes (pics soon, I promise).
After that, we stopped at the Walmart closest to the fish store (this fish store is about an hour away from my house, by the way). So we find the aquatics section and just stood there with our jaws wide open... they had a CLEAN fish section... and CLEAN betta cups... and CROWNTAILS! I mean, there were NO dead fish, NO sick fish, No dirty water... pristine!! The only strange fish was a small oscar with only one eye, but it looked like he was born that way, and he was definitely fat and happy. We wanted to find a manager to compliment them!
We ended up getting some live plants and they guy said they used to have a problem with Ich and things, but now they've gone bare-bottom on their tanks and strive for cleanliness. So... she found this AMAZING CT with black speckled fins... SO gorgeous.
We told the guy that got our plants to tell them manager we were very impressed... Needless to say, we'll be going back to that Walmart...
So here are some pictures of it...
The really clean fish tanks.
The betta section (and albino dwarf frogs on the far right)
The crowntails (well... only one after we left...)!!
Yes, that is a complete betta information board complete with pictures of various different types, care, and an article about them. It even says that the BARE minimum size tank you need is a half gallon! We were so impressed!
This is no joke. I'm still dumbfounded by it. Thank you Walmart in Greenfield, WI!!
