A Behavior Question

I'm just curious why my EBR and GBR love to harass my croaking Gouramis from the other side of the tank, but my ottos could be smack dab in their territory with food and my rams don't even know they exist! I find it strange...

I've found my cichlids to ignore bottom feeders unless blood worms are involved.

Cichlids don't tend to bother bottom dwellers unless their breeding.

I've read about rams and gouramis being a bad match as they frequently dont get along. Are they doing any damage?
