Hey all,

It's now been 4 days treating the 96G tank and all the fish seem to be clear except the 2 clown loaches who i'm sure brought it in and now a tri-coloured platy who didn't have it before :S
Anyway, what i was thinking is taking the 3 out, i have a 1/2G hospital tank, the 2 clown loaches are still small, 1 - 2in the other and inch and a half and the platy is really small, and put them in and treat just them for 5 more days and put them back in the tank, i only have 1 day left for the first cycle of treatment for the big tank. I could treat the whole thing again, but if all are clear it makes more sense to just treat the 3 still infected.

What do you all think?!

i wouldn't move the clown loaches, the move could stress them out even more, id just wait it out treating the big tank, personally id use salt but thats just me, I've used it on fish your not supposed too and I've cleared the ick twice without any signs of distress or any losses

I am not familiar with what kind of temp those guys can tolerate but i have found that i can easily get rid of ick by adding salt and slowly raising the temperature to 84 or 85 for 24-48hours as i read somewhere that ick dies off at 84 degrees and that amount of time. Anyone care to add to this i am only reciting what i have read on another forum and has worked for me quite a few times without using any other treatment.

with higher temperatures the ick's life cycle speeds up, so when it's in the free swimming stage (i believe) thats when the meds kill it

that's how i believe it goes, could be wrong though
