A beautiful Betta is one which is wild and not line bred to produce retarded fins and colouration.

A Male Betta would be okay, but it would be a waste, Betta's are crap over-rated fish.

Livebeaers take the number one spot in that category, over bred rats of the hobby but popular with newbies because when they see them in the lfs, they equate their incessant begging with the fish trying to interact. Over bred so much that they've forgotten how to be fish and now are limited to begging and poopin and giving birth and begging lol

me, i've had a Spec, i'd stick a betta in it without any issues, but i would mod it to reduce the flow and probably force the water upwards rather than against the glass. I'd also try to plant it up and get some cover in there. each to their own though.

I've got a Fluval Spec which is currently housing Cherry and Amano shrimp a Zebra nerite and a golden rabbit snail.

Yes they are small and can be a pain to scape, but I love mine and wouldn't hesitate to setup another tank the same size.

8 liters is smaller than a bucket, but I agree it could still be gorgeus!

With some beautiful sand or gravel, a small piece of wood and some java moss + few colourfull shrimps = really pretty.

I wouldn't put any kind of fish in it though.

Neh not yet, i doubt it will be set up for too long as its in the shop to show people what they can do with the tank, but seeing as the tanks no longer made i dont think, once we have sold the two that we have, i'll sell the setup as it is.

But might well set up a journal its similar you yours with the moss branch and have a tiny anubias, manado substrate and a few black pebbles. Waiting for some lilaeopsis or pogestemon helferi so base is really bare.

Though to be fair its only been set up 3 days lol (mature water and filter media and tested regularly, it cycled in 24 hours and checked with ammonia source on day 2 and all was well).

This is mine atm after 3 days (fully cycled with mature media and water etc with mini cycle on day 1).

Don't let others' comments put you off, if you like livebearers, then you keep livebearers. There seems to be an oddly large amount of fish-snobbery on this thread, which isn't usual for the forum.

Those little nano tanks are really pleasing on the eye

Never would of thought you could get them to look as attractive as that, Cherry shrimp would look great in them imo.
