Hi so I have space that I could set up an 80 litre tank but it’s upstairs - would anyone have any reservations or am I worrying about nothing?

My old manager told me that. Just imagine the weight of having a second bath upstairs and see how you feel about it. If it doesn't feel like the floor gonna cave in beneath you, should be fine lol.Just put it this way. Most homes across the country have baths upstairs im sure a 80 litre tank will be fine lol my 105 is upstairs
I'd be cautious taking that to the extreme, bathtubs don't move, so the architect can design for the stress. You can be sure that when I placed my 470 L tank that it was against a load bearing wall. That being said, it is above a basement, so it would work on the upper floor as well.Just put it this way. Thats a fair bit more weight tbf. Id be a bit more cautious placing a 470ltr tank upstairs thats for sure lolI'd be cautious taking that to the extreme, bathtubs don't move, so the architect can design for the stress. mmmm this might be instead of the dream tank... but not 100%, day dreaming on both at the moment. Lifes a bit in limbo at the moment but should be resovled in the next few months and then I'll be able to get an other one or two tanks haha.Anyway @Wills how the devil have you worked your magic around the better half?
First the dream tanks on the cards and now we have the 80 ltr on the way aswel. Thats a fair few brownie points there!
In fact id try and talk myself out of it just with the thought of getting the tank upstairs
I bet! They really are heavy arent they. I was lucky with my 450. I managed to get it off the pallet onto a trolley that i rolled through the house and then my wife sweet talked the gardeners in giving me a hand getting it from the floor on to the stand. It was a challenge enough getting it into the the ground floor. Next tank will be much smaller.
Ive been looking at a similar size tank for my Ellioti fry to grow out in.Ah brill thanks guys I weigh much more than 80kg and I sit up there all day at the moment so I reckon it should be ok.
Tank in question is theoretical at the moment (as are most of my tanks) but plan is for a 3x1x1 tank for some Shell Dwellers
