This is my second attempt at keeping tropical fish . Last tank failed due to my in-experience & the crappy cheap internal filter .

Starting off with a 90l & once i master this one i will probably move up to 200 & so on & then might have a go at live plants .

I'm pretty chuffed with this one now especially as i had the patience this time to cycle the tank .

it looks good, =D although you should stick some live plants in there ( i love live plants) what fluval filter you got? 105? or 205? (its the volume tank as my largest)

New air Pump in there today which is the Eheim 200 & it's fairly quiet i guess .

I know this is not a patch on some of the stunning tanks on this forum but as i have only been interested in this amazing hobby since Jan of this year ,i will get there

No live plants for me just yet mike , only been into this awesome hobby for about 4 month . Another year or two & i will upgrade tank & get live plants in .

A Fluval 205 .

ohh nice, im running the same =] i started with plants, there easy to keep =]

Beautiful tank!  I started my aquarium around the same time :).  It's a 37 gallon.  How big is your tank?

it looks nice, though I'd have to agree and place live pant in there, it looks more 'real'...

This was my first tank, it's ony a 65l tank, but the plant gives the fish somewhere to hide if they feel threatened.

Oh yeah I love live plants, don't get what you mean with if fish feel threatened there's somewhere for them to hide.. Fish should never feel threatened in any aquarium, if they do then something is seriously wrong.. I think you do have to provide hiding places for certain fish to chill out.. Rocks, bogwood etc. I'm definitely going live plants but not just yet, like I said in an earlier post I will master keeping my tank & fish healthy for a bit then upgrade the size of my tank. I'm actually looking forward to it. Iv spent a good £50 on the sydeco range of silk plants so would be silly to change just now.

Great looking tank. I think for fake plants those look really good (I might be a bit biased though, my tank's full of them lol). The platies look nice too, thought they were red wags at first as I'd just bought some myself at the weekend.

thanks .. they are redwags on the first pic but i helped a friend out who was setting up & gave him my 3 , the second picture was obviously taken a week after . Love platies , i have got 3 Mickey mouse platy's (2 male ,1 female),1 Pineapple Platy (male) & might invest in some more as my old man is giving me his 120l tank . Mine is 90 so i will get a few more fish in there . Reason im changing is he is giving me his 2 month old fluval 206 filter so too good to turn down .I just wanted the filter off him as mine is a few years old 205 , but he said no he wants rid of the tank aswell

their range of tropical fish is ridiculous honestly . Well worth a visit ..Decent website too .

Most of my plants are the Sydeco range with a few Hugo Kamishi ones .

Jammy get :D

I got my current fish from Pier Aquatics in Wigan, and because I work in Bolton I spend a lot of time at Dave's Aquarium but I haven't bought any fish from there, just other stuff. I may well check out Aqualife, in the next couple of weekends. The kids love going to look at fish!
