75g Tank Overhaul

Where abouts should I place the CO2 Diffuser? I have it at the moment set up directly below my intake fir the Ext. Filter with the hope it will be taken up into the filter and diffued. Or would it be better off at the opposit end to the intake/outake next to the power head?

Below the power head mate, otherwise the CO2 in your filter is gonna cause grief.

UPDATE :

Tank is up and running, still waiting on the powerhead though :/ stupid ebay seller. sending me another in the post so need to wait for that :)

Here you go . What you guys think, any improvements?

So, anything I should change?

I havent dosed any ferts yet, going to leave it a few days to let the nutrients balance out from the dirt.

Reading as follows

Ammonia : 0
Nitrate : 0
Nitrite : 0
pH : 7.2
gH : 150ppm
kH : 50 ppm

Power head going on the left when it turns up along with the diffuser? Looks good mate, only thing I would change is take pics in the dark with lights on in tank and turn off ya flash lol ;).
Getting any more plants for left side or just waiting for the swords to grow huge? I'd have put filter inlet, outlet and heater on left where tall plants are and put power head on right with diffuser to hide the filter and heater but it's your choice mate, I think it will be awesome once grown in. :good:

Yeah will be changing the filter inlet and heater location etc. Just wanted to get the equipment in quick

Wondering what other plants to add on the left ? thinking maybe let the swords grow in huge, and add where needed. Suggestions?

Powerhead will be added on to the left

And yes, photo taking skills are poor at best

Current Stocking

2 x Sailfin Plecs (1F and 1M)
1 x Angel Fish
5 x Columbian Tetra
3 x YoYo Loaches
5 x Glass Catfish
5 x Khuli Loaches
5 x Ottos

What to add if anything :/

Dude stick inlet and outlet on the left with heater to hide as swords get big, they'll look lovely once grown in, put power head and diffuser on right facing the HC, trust me it will make that HC carpet in no time.

Will Do Mate :good:

Any other fish additions i should add? would like a rainbow shark in there but thinking the Columbian Tetra may be harassed ?

I'd take out the catfish and loaches and get more angels dude. :)

Looking at creating this an dosing daily. This is not my recipe, it is from an external source.

RECIPE : Based On Tropica's Plant Nutrition +

So Here is the formula:

10g Potassium Nitrate
2.3g Monopotassium Phosphate
4.0g Potassium Sulphate
8.0g Magnesium Sulphate Heptahydrate (Epsom Salts)
0.5g E300 Ascorbic Acid
0.2g E202 Potassium Sorbate
6g EDTA Chelated Trace Elements Mix (TNC Trace, CSM+B)
500ml distilled water

Dosing is 5ml per 40 litres

Each 5ml dose adds:
1.5 ppm Nitrate
0.4 ppm Phosphate
1.6 ppm Potassium
0.2 ppm Magnesium

My Tank is 300 litres (330 Excluding, substrate, hardscape etc)
If I was to dose weekly this would be 37.5 ml ((5 / 40) x 300)

So If I was to do this daily would that mean 37.5 / 7 = 5.4mls per day? (1dp)

Personally I feel that you need some lengthy plants at the back in order to create a natural, planted backdrop. Most the plants seem to be fairly small, obviously they are young but what i mean is that they will never grow to great heights. Also I think you need to add some different colours in the plants or use more wood/rock to break up the space a bit! But generally looking good so far!

Yeah Im thinking this too. Going to place some taller swords along the back, move the red ludwiggia to the left, shift the crypts to the left (infront of the bogwood) just need more suggestions on colourful plants to break it all up :/

Okay so thinking I need the following additions in the tank

Back ground :
Echinodorus red devil +
Alternanthera reineckii lilacin
Midground :
Alternanthera reineckii lilacin
Foreground / Midground :
Alternanthera rosaefolia mini
Foreground :
Rotala wallichii

Good Idea?
