since i got a nano for my corals,
i decided why not go FW planted instead of FOWLR?

i like the discus idea.
is a 75 gallon big enough for some discus?
if so, how many?

are discus able to eat smaller fish like neon tettras

ive done FW before but not planted.
right now for my reef i have 4x65w PC lighting.
will these be ok with freshwater plants?

and if you have any cool ideas for me let me know.
i like the black sand idea.
also, what kind of rock and/or driftwood should i use?
i used to use lava rock.

Hey and welcome!

Discus will do well in a 75 gallon. I would recommend investing in some large mature Discus, as smaller Discus tend to get stunted in a gravel bottom aquarium. Are you looking to do a species only Discus tank? Discus tend to like to eat smaller tetras, such as neons. You can do up to 6 or 7 Discus in a 75 gallon, and have room for a bigger sized tetra, and maybe some corydora. If you want to do 6, you could add a few dwarf cichlid or even an angelfish.

do all the discus have to be the same size?
and how big will they get if i buy them small?
and what are some types of other fish that can go with them?

No, not all the Discus have to be the same size, but again you may want to get bigger guys if the tank is planted. juvenile Discus are very sensitive to water quality, and it is harder to clean a tank with gravel, opposed to a tank without. The Discus you buy may or may not get stunted, it's just a bigger risk putting them into a tank full of gravel. Also, to the extent of stunting, I couldn't tell you. The only other fish I could put with my Discus are:
Dwarf Cichlids (mainly rams)
Angelfish
Corydora
Big tetras
