It is Cycling Day 3 of my 10 Gallon Tank (Fishless cycle). :good: My API Freshwater master test kit arrived today, so I decided to test what as necessary. The pH is on the high range, at 8.2; Where as ammonia still reads 0. I am currently cycling with fish flakes, although I am picking up some ammonia today and switching to that method. Is the high pH alright? Will it affect how slow my tank cycles? :/

Thanks!
Ellen

PH will only become an issue during a fishless cycle if it 'crashes' (due to low KH/GH and therefore soft water, like mine).. if it falls below 6.5 then the rate of bacteria multiplication will slow down considerably.
8.2 is a lovely level of PH for a fishless cycle, count yourself lucky :good:
