Yeh HC is a great carpeting plant, got it im my nano, but it does like lots of everything, light, co2, nutrients to grow in a nice carpet.

Okay guys, I'm having possiby the hardest time finding lights to go over my tank. Because it has a hood, it throws a whole other problem into the mix. Not only is 34" apparently unheard of in the aquarium lighting world, but every light under 34" long only has at best 96 watts. And then the width problem comes to hand. My hood is only 9 inches wide (the area where I can put lights) so that cuts out many lights. And when i find one that fits my needs, I read it has to be over a closed aquarium and not one like mine (the top of it is drawn above).

Sorry, this post is a bit of a vent, but Im having the hardest time right now finding lights, so if anyone would like to help, please do.

Well I bought lights thatll give me 130 watts, so 2wpg about. So, now its time for me to find the right plants. I drew a pretty crappy picture on paint of a layout Ive been toying with so if you like it/ dont like it give me some feedback on how I should change it please ... welll it wont let me post the picture becuase its greater than my "per post or global limit" so Ill upload it in a bit and post an url on here...

What's the pathway going to be?

Awful drawing to be honest little one.

Looks like an alright layout to me, so what plants will you use?

pathway is just going to be the substrate Ive got, its a nice brown color so... and Im still working on plants, not much to chose from at the LFS and most websites are very overpriced.
