thankyou, ive had to have a minor re-scape to kill the aptasia with a soldering iron then i found another on the other left hand side stack, but its all good now

diatoms are all gone now, green hair algae has started, got my blue narva light. my strange polyp things have opened, they look like doughnuts with the hollow middle but the middle is actually white, and the ring part is orange, will have to get a good picture at some point, there are red ones too, but they are fully red, a crimson-scarlet colour. none of these are very close together and are a maximum of 5mm across. a;so there is some kind of other coral where the polyps are in these slits, they are all part of one coral, its a greyish blue, will have to get some pictures definitely, especially of these little button polyps about 1mm across and they are brown, im going to have to have a proper examination of these because they appear to look a little bit like aptasia but they dont act like them at all, they scare into a tube when frightened, but they are not feather dusters, they are near by each other-ish, some are around 3-4 mm close, and some are on the other side of the rock.

by the way, these are all on the same rock, so its quite an interesting rock

The polyps are most likely zoanthids, a great coral! Looking forward to pichers!

skimmer is fully up and running, skimming the tonns of algae that i have scraped off the glass, so i was getting green skimmate
