60 Fowlr

When I say magnet, I mean magnetic cleaners. You can buy them at most lfs'. The have a magnet on both sides of the glass and you can slide them around the glass to scrape off algae. Example: Mag-Float

you migth want to add an axtra powerhead to incrase the flow of the tank, you want to aim for about 20- 25X turnover. The best investement that you can make is getting good quallity live rock. This means rock that is porous, and well cured . This is your biological filter, and the beneficial bacteria in the rock will break down unwanted componets in your tank. THe live sand will also help with this.
a good test kit is essential, which allows to test for ammonia and things that will harm or wipe out your stock.

20-25x is for most corals. If you are just doing fowlr, you don't need that much flow. having 10x the flow is plenty for a fowlr

Is it possible to do a FO tank, no live rock? what would I use for decoration ect?

and slowly add live rock like a month later?

hey the plan sounds good and very close to mine lol :good:
but I think people forgot to mention if you had a R/O water sorce
as you have to use pure water and you can get distilled water at ur local supermarket and it isnt that expensive live $5 for 20g or something like that :D
as for fishes I think the gramma would be ubra cool

You can most certainly do this, and you can use whatever you like for decorations. try to stay away from metals though ;)

Hmm im gonna go down LFS shop and see how much there live rock is, as i do really like it with LR

I was thinking of buying http://www.1st4aquatics.com/d-d-jbj-28-gal...ting-3437-p.asp after doing some research as they come with most of the equipment anyway and I would only have to buy the salt a LR.

Anyone heard anything about these, are they bad or good?

Personally, I hate the "Box" tanks... meaning the ones that say to "just add water and fish and your set!" I think thats a load of sh&t because the pieces that come with most of these sets are crap to make them affordable. I'm not saying this tank will crap and I actually think I have seen another TFF member turn one of these into a beautiful nano. I just think it's more fun and easier to make a tank that you can call your own by putting all the pieces together yourself. But, just my opinion.

I think it is possible to do a FO tank as long you enough man made filtration, either through HOB filter(s) or external canister(s). Like you said though, kind of takes a good look away from the tank. When someone says marine, most people would expect some beautiful rock work in which the fish swim and in and around :good:
