55g peacful comunity and...........

this is before i switched to sand and moved my tank (without removeing or loseing a single fish)....

this is after..

one of my otos snacking.....

theses are my dwarf "honey" guoramis

theres my pearl guorami looking for somthing to eat and a fue of my tetras swiming with a halfblack female guppie.... and a 4 week fry in the backgroud.

these last two are fuzzy but there the best pics i could get of my halfblack male and my male tux trying to get a little from my brightest female....

the waters a bit cloudy from 1/2 hour of wardly alge tabs DONT BUY EM! i need to let the crypts grow in a bit more..... also i just upped the light a week ago, so they need some time to adjust...
anyone have any sugestions or comments about the tank?
ill get some full tank shots and a fue better ones of the guppies later.

thanks alot! i was up loading some more pics lastnight when the power blinked!! when i tryed to reboot i found my powersuply was dead .... all my pics where on there and i had just started uploading to imageshack when that happend....

i guess i gotta start on some new pics till i can get a new PSU.....

how do you tell? he/she is still young but i dont know how to sex the perl.

Yep, it's a she. Notice the more rounded, deeper underside and a non-pointy dorsal. She also doesn't have even a little orange on her throat which most young males do have. As she matures she will also develop an olive coloration on the upper half of her body which she doesn't appear to have in the picture.

i love it! i wish it where more golden brown in color but i got oregon sand... its verry grey.

planting is a heck of alot EZer and i like how cheap it was too ($2.50USD) as aposed to the 24 it cost to put gravel in my tank.

How did you manage switching to sand without moving any fish, I just did it a week ago, but I drained my whole tank. It would've been a lot easier to do without that.

it may be a bit crewl but i didnt drain the tank all the way. i also used a cup to scoop sand in slowly after i filled the tank up agan and had it in place. i had no other option i had to move it becuse my other counter to was starting to warp and i didnt have a tank to move everyone to at the moment. thats one of the resons i got the sand ... i knew i had to remove the gravel and most of teh water to move it and i figured it wold be a good time to switch.
i also used a python and a digital thermomiter to get the water temp exactly teh same and slowly added the water back into the tank. it took me all day to do this but it was well worth it. i did just lose a fish to dropsy and it may have been caused byt thestress but that fish was never verry helthy anyway and it woldhave been worse if the tank buckeld.
thanks for all teh complements but now i just tore teh plants out and moved tehm to my new 55 with black sand and it looks much better. i will post pics of both as soon as i have teh aquascapeing done in the old 55.
