55 Gallon Tank (Us)

Hi a petco just opened up and all their tanks are $1 per gallon so i was trying to convince my dad to get me a 55g tank and i was wondering wat i could but in it.
oscar?
cichlids?

What else could i put in it?/

is it $1 per gal. just for the tank itself or does it come with filtration, lights, heater etc.?

EDIT: Went to petco today for some more mealworms for my colony and its $1 per gallon but for tank only. Even If I do spend $125 on a 125 gal. If you count the hood, lights, filters and heater it would cost MAAAD cash.

55 gallon is a bit too small for an oscar, if you can afford just $20 dollars more you can get a 75 gallon tank (48"x18" footprint) which can house an oscar.

Also check your local classified papers, ad mag or internet sites (I think craiglist is a big one in the US), you can pick up good deals there.
