Well, I'm actually happy with the way it looks now. :) Except the airtube which I hope to pull in the next few days.

Major lighting upgrade so I put the sword back in. Hopefully it will recoup. Now I just need to let things grow. :)

I have more Java Moss on the way and guppy grass for the top of the tank. :)

Edit: I will post new pics after the tank settles down. :)

The fish aren't happy with me. It's so cloudy because I made the mistake of having the airstone pointing right up into the intake on my filter.

Guppys, Corys, Clown Loaches, 1 Pleco, and some danios for the time being. :)

No, it's not siliconed down. It took me about ten minutes of shifting it till I had it where I felt it was good and secure against the rocks and driftwood. :)

Those lights look massive. You going to add more plants to make sure you don't get too much algae, right?

That is only 4x40W for 160.

By that site that is basically just over "medium" for a 55 Gallon tank.

The Tropic Sunset and Primrose are both medium light plants that are fast growers.

The MicroSword Amazon Sword, and Dwarf Sag are all Medium Light also.

The Java Fern (I'm missing one right now. :/) Java Moss, Crypt, and Anubius Nana are all low light, I will have to see how they do.

Thanks. If these lights work well and the plants do okay then I'm going to start working on the stand/hood. If they work well, I'm just going to build this tank's hood with them and use Power Compact for the other 55G. :)

It all just takes so much time and mony. :/ For the most part the plants were either really cheap or free + shipping. The rocks my dad had.

When I started this I never realized how much it could cost.

But, it is getting there. I spend as much as I can when I can. :)

sweet tank, i cant wait till i start setting my 75 gallon up nov/dec possibly :hey:

Thanks. :) Once I get this one done I'm starting work on the other 55, which I need to buy a reverse osmosis for. :( Way expensive. :(

My 30 Gallon I haven't decided on yet, it was going to be a puffer tank.

But either or, I'm off on a tangent.

The point I was getting to is once all these are done (6 months to a year) I'm hoping to buy a 240G acryllic. :) I found they run about $1,000.00. :)

If I build my own stand, hood, etc...

why not build your own tank? I got some glass apraised and it was about .5 inches thick, 3x 3 foot sections and 2x 18 inch sections. Would cost me about $100 for the tank and about $22 for the sealent.

3x3 would be 3 sections basically A 240 Gallon is 8'.

Also, I would rather build the aquascape than the tank. :)

When this trailer I live in is paid off I already am buying a piece of land and I intend to build a house on it. Then I will build an aquarium. :) Probably 3 for various walls. :)

But, that is a while away and I don't even want to think about those equipment costs.

Here is a shot after it's clearing up. Hopefully it will be completely clear by morning. I turned the air down and that helped. :/

Edit: forgot the picture. :/

It was nice and clear this morning, but I do need to clean the glass. :)
