55 Gallon Cichlid Tank?

which one in a 55gallon tank?

This is my two idea that i had.
1.
1 theadfin acara
1 t-bar cichlid
1 rotkeil sev
1 Satanoperca leucostictus
Or
2.

1 firemouth
1 green terror
1 nic cichlid
1 sajica

or
1 Satanoperca leucostictus
1 geophagus altifrons
1 rotkeil sev
1 chocolate cichlid

Well I wouldn't do the second one because the firemouth and greent terror are very agressive. Not sure about the first option you posted as I have only heard of one of those fish, the threadfin acara.

Personally I would do the second cos i'm more interested in CA cichlids the SA right now, but you will have to keep a keen eye on them when they mature. What's the dimensions of the 55? I would only try all 4 if it was at least 4 foot wide.

Also, I think T-bar and Sajica amount to the same fish.

yeah i know the sajica is a T-bar cichlid.

You shouldnt keep a severum in a 55g tank. You could have the FM, the acara, the Nicaraguan with some dithers in a 55g. Or swap the FM with a sajica.

Or you could have a single GT (no other cichlids) with dithers in a 55g.

3rd option still contains the sev, so no, sorry. Take it out of the list completely, then yes 3rd option should be ok, not that I know much of chocolate cichlids, but to my (limited) knowledge, reaches approx 8"?

Sorry I know its not what you want to hear and many others will disagree with me on a minimum tank size for a severum, some say a 55g is enough, its all down to personal opinions on what you think is an acceptable space to keep a large intelligent cichlid in, I (we) can only advise at the end of the day, its your fish.
