55 gal. aquarium

I know it is a bit difficult for you guys to answer this, but I just saw an ad in my local paper for an oak 55 gal. aquarium with stand, hood, etc. 125.00

Assuming that it has a heater, and an average filter, what should a person pay for something like this. Although it says oak, I am guessing oak-like plastic laminate. Better to be pleasantly surprised instead of woefully dissapointed.

As a female, I don't want to drive across town and risk being alone in a strangers house if this is just an average deal that I should be able to find anywhere.

I'd call and get more details. I think that is an ok deal but it depends on its codition and other factors.

Up here in canada i would be driving to the house tonight and waitiing for the people to wake up in the morning That is a pretty darn good deal for a 55 with stand and accessories if it is half as good as it sounds and you are serious about a new aquarium pick it up. Why can't this ever happen to me

$125 for 55 with stand, etc would be a good deal here (in Arkansas) as well. I'd definitely be looking pretty seriously at it if I was you. Even if the filter sucks, the heater, stand and aquarium are probably worth it. Do you have a guy friend you can get to go with you for safety if you are worried about that?

I'll have to beg my husband and he will act like its the biggest request of the century to take time out of his precious schedule and accompany me, but I think I will as I just think it is much wiser to go along with someone.
