Wow! I love all the tanks in the room! And my husband thinks *I'm* trying to fill the place with fishtanks (I only have a 29-gallon and a one-gallon set up, though I'd like to have the 10-gallon set up too - just don't have room).

Since he is currently in bed, and those are some of my favorite fishies, I'll answer. I'm assuming you mean the type that is smack dab in the middle of the first shot. OB Peacocks! Wahookie!

chris, what are the phosphate levels like in the water you used for the changes?

If there is a partial bloom and the water you add is high in phosphates it'll make the bloom worse. just a thought.

fufanu360 : There IS new sand in there...and I DIDN'T pour the water right onto it....I pythoned it in, over bare glass. The first cloud picture after the fact is from a different brand of sand that I thought I would try out, no good. So I went back to the good old reliable Target brand playsand...big $4 mistake. So needless to say, the cloud in the last picture has NOTHING to do with sand dust. It's the bloom. Clearer today as the cycle progresses.

smithrc : I have absolutely no idea what the phosphate levels are of this tank....or any other tank in the house as a matter of fact. All of the tanks get treated exactly the same....same type of methods for w/c's and chems and such, same substrate until now, same rocks....bla bla bla....and out of 20-some tanks, this is the only one that is giving me a hard time. So maybe you are right. I may have to look into that if this doesn't pan out. Thanks all.

Looks to be clearing a bit...still zero readings of ammonia and nitrites though...so I will wait it out until I see for sure if it is going to spike.....seeded it with two filter inserts from the emperor 400 from the 50 gallon....and fed the "no fish" with some crushed flake. Can probably see it in the picture.
