I was about to say it's probably a scam, but it looks like the buyer has positive feedback from multiple sellers

I'm wondering if the buyer is actually getting a larger quantity of bettas than just that one and they just used that betta's auction link to set up the payment ??
:dunno:

Perhaps it was a typo from the buyer. Not that it isn't gorgeous.

I wonder if this is the most expensive fish the buyer has for sale?

but look at the bid history

what does 'bumped up' mean?

I think it means the price is raised....Like someone bidded higher...

Something tells me that the winner meant to bid $50 and put in a extra 0. And his auto-bidder was doing the bidding up to what he put as the most he would pay.

I looked at his other 13 wins..and the highest one was $50, the rest were under $30.

I highly doubt a bidder went form spending $50 to $500.

For me, that's nearly a month's rent. Though I love bettas, I'm just not at the point where I'll spend $500 for one fish. I bet that seller is really happy now! I'd be. I can see investing $100 on a pair of quality spawn siblings to start a line or something like that, but $500, that's a lot of mula.

I agree SRC, and if that is the case then they can back out of the sale. At least that's the way it is on ebay. Cute fish, but 500$ is a bit crazy if this is legit.

No joke.
I'd feel weird paying $500 for a betta, and end up putting it in a $5 bowl.
