5*3*2 Iwagumi

he's huge! How big is he?

yep he is a big lugg and is over 20Inches.

wows hes really cool how big is he/how big will he get and arent you worried about him eating your other fish?

dunno how big he will get as no-one has really kept these fish for a long time yet. and i do not know any chinese/japanese keepers who starting keeping these when they were first created.

not really as he was raised with danios and minnows. so he has never seen them as food.

very nice tank. i would guess he might snack on them at night when they are asleep.
Your pictures may give the wrong impression but there does not look like much room for it to swim.
Its defiantly hard to keep up the will power to keep up with the smaller fish in a big tank. I always wanted larger fish in mine as soon as i put loads of smaller fish in. in the end i may turn it back into a tank for smaller fish and get a even larger tank for my larger fish.
But great looking tank, Lovely collection of small fish.
Regards Jonny

He had a very proud look on his face.

Gill not been around for a long time and no replys to e-mails either.

I've seen this fish up close and it has real attitude. Gill was playing with a ball with it and it wasnt having any of it. I've never seen a fish that seemed so intelligent. :hyper:

Well Guys Been Months Since I have been on here.

ATM the Tank is Sitting Empty And Looks Sad.

I am Getting Quotes for Fish that I want to restock the tank with.
Going to have Temperate Water Fish (save on heating the tank). And will Be planted with The usual Plants I Like to Use.

Plants to order from Thailand Supplier as Far Cheaper:
** Moss Balls - Varying Sizes - Probably Couple of Hundred of them As I really Like how they look Cut in Half and used to make a green Hilly Substrate Cover.
** Anubias - 50-100 or so And Will be Attached to XXXXXL Bogwood Peices (Found a Local Supplier of +2 foot Long Peices).
** Mabye some Hygro or Hornwort Bushes Clumed Together in Far Left Corner to provide Cover
** Flaoting Amazon Frogbit as Cover from the Lighting and Natural Sunlight.
Again willuse no Co2 as have found no need for it.

Fish:
Gold White Mountain Clouds -Waiting on price for +200 (should be under 60Quid Wholesale Price+Discount).
Paleatus Cories - I think they are the only temperate water Cories.
Rubber Lip Plecs - Again Temperate Water Plecs
Various Shrimp.

Lighting:
Still Going to Use the Theatrical Stage Lighting 500Watts

Thats It for Know.
Will get started on this over the next couple of weeks.

Welcome back Gill, looking forward to the new layout.

Thanks Arron

Yep going to keep 90% open swimming space for visual impact and viewing the Fish.

Also Need to add Gold Sunset Honey gourami to the fish List, Have been Experimenting with keeping/Breeding At room temp and Below and they are thriving.

I am looking forward to seeing what 100+ moss balls looks like

I have done 30 before Remember in the 4footer i had a few years back. It Should Look great they way i want to scape them

So while this is still empty and I am saving up. And of Course trying to convince the other half to let me set it up again and not smash it.
I have been getting together prices for the fish I want to Keep.
So Far the Gold WCMM prices are a little dissapointing. The Lowest quotes I have been given so far is 40p per fish, which is only 10p cheaper than the Normal WCMM.
I can see now why Neons are so cheap as I was being Quoted only £60.00 for 250 Neons.
I am trying other sources for the fish and will buy when i have a decent quote.
The LFS who quoted 40p per fish is looking the best so far and i may be able to haggle as I have been going there a few years now. He has advised that he only needs a weeks notice to get them in, so this is a plus.

200 Marimo Balls (6-10cm Size) are coming in at £160 which is way more than I can afford for just these, when I have so many other bits and peices to get.
The Anubias Nana Petite look like they may be a decent price - so that is hopefully going to allow me to buy plenty of them in.
I am still not sure what to use as a capreting plant in a tank so big without using any Co2, I was looking at some fissidens species but not sure on them. I was thinking also about something along the lines of Baby Tears, but have never used that type of plant before so would like some input on it.

baby tears likes CO2, and it is useful if you can raise the levels to give it a kick start. Perhaps try an easier specie such as marsilea hirstuta.
Hope you go ahead with the project
