48L Betta/community Tank Journal

Thanks Biulu :) Yeah the more I look at him I think it's a matter of the pattern being "denser" on the corys I already had and, in all honesty, I think newbie has a "better" colouration according to species examples I see on the internet.

I do hope his tail sorts itself, but I'll love him the same either way!

ARGH!! The new sterbai has finrot - I started a new topic about it.....

But also today I purchased a Juwel Rio 180, fully planted and filled with black sand!

oh - for £100 woo! Gonna start a new topic about it too because I've got a couple of questions for you fine people.

EDIT: Added picture of the new tank.

Oh yeah - nearly forgot because I was in such a flap about the finrot. I received 7 Malaysian Trumpet snails today (I ordered 5, score!). When I put them in, there was clearly going to be a problem with the betta. So I sat there for ages with a net keeping him off of them - he was very persistent. Then I decided to poke them down into the sand a little, making sure they were the right way up. Zod was still overly interested but they started burrowing into the sand so he at least couldn't get to their bodies.

To be honest I'm not sure how long they are going to last as I think Zod is pretty set on eating or at least killing them!

Also I was pretty pleased with this picture of the rasbora - I never get decent ones of them

Too bad I didn't get his whole body into this one, would have been a good one!

I sooooooo want trumpet snails! Though if I ever get them, I hope my swordie won't peck them all day. She seems to leave my current snail alone though.

Is the 1 tank girl, now a 2 tank fish crazy, like the rest of us? Goodluck for your snails. My betta ate all of the shrimp I put it.

Haha well I'll probably get rid of the other tank after I've got this one up and running, I am a one tanker! no MTS for me!!

lol It's too bad really. More tanks mean more bettas! :hyper: Wish I could take your replaced tank off your hands, would like lovely in my kitchen with a pretty betty in and a group of pygmy cories.

I have considered keeping it, it is a fantastic little tank but I don't know where I'd put it and I think my husband would divorce me!

You may need to get a closer pic of the tank, there's a lot of plants with similar leaves, it's hard to tell. I am betting that there are some swords, and maybe the plant on the left is water sprite "maybe" She spoke of trimming all the time.

I bet your hubby would love a fishtank in the bathroom to watch! lol Mine would at least

He certainly spends enough time in there....

Well I've just arranged to get the tank tomorrow night so it won't be long and I'll see those plants in person!

Well...these snails may not last long but my betta is having the time of his life "stalking" them. I don't think he's actually killed any yet but I've been kind of babying them. There were some flipped over on the sand this morning so I stuck them back down in the sand and they have burrowed the rest of the way down. If he keeps flipping them over he's going to get one eventually!

Aww, poor snails...
Would have been good if you would keep the old tank and split some of the fish to keep the snails too.

I had 10 snails delivered yesterday, I put them in and none of them have moved yet. Not looking good
