Hi, We've got a fully cycled and ready to rock 47 gallon(UK) tank 48x18x15, just looking for a few suggestions on possible stock list, We're settled on cichlids, as the "Twin tank" is a community tank, just looking for a few suggestions on what "You Would Put In There", We have fairly decent access to good fish stocks as We have about a dozen VERY GOOD shops, all over Scotland, which We frequent regularly, so We've got open minds, thanx in advance.

personally...i'm a big fan of severums, jd's and sajicas. i'd do something with them

Is the tank 15 or 18 inches wide, I can never remember the order in which it goes.

I would probably either do a biotope theme'd tank, or a breeding pair.

An amazon theme'd tank, with plenty of bogwood and plants, a group of corys, a group of tetras (1 type only) and some dwarf cichlids (rams/apisto's).

For the breeding pair I would go central american and probably do salvini, though I whats really a good looking fish and not common is the 'yellow dwarf', Archocentrus nanoluteus (not sure on the Archocentrus validity these days though, might be Cryptoheros), I'd probably try and squeeze 2 pairs into a tank that size, they do look amazing.

18 inches TALL, 15 inches from front to back, thanx for replies.

Although they're hard to get, I have a group Biotodoma cupido in a similarly sized tank.
I got them from Aquatic Rooms in Edinburgh a few months ago, but they were also in stock at Outside Inside Aquatics at Haddington recently as well, so keep an eye out as they are a really nice and smallish cichlid!
Out of interest, which shops do you rate?
