40-something Gallon - What's Common?

Someone at work is giving me his old tank and I would like to know the dimensions before I get it. He says it's bulkier (deeper from front to back?) than a 55 but is 40-something gallons. I bet this is a standard size and wonder if anyone can help with the dimensions. Thanks.

I could be wrong but was thinking that there is probably a standard size/dimension in the 40-gallon range, like how the 55 gallon dimensions are fairly standard. Thank you.

hi 36" x 15" x 18" is 42 gallons

A 40 breeder is 36x18x12... Or a 45 is 36x12x24...

no standard sizes really...a manufacturer can make it slightly less than another and give it different gallon readings. need dimensions
