Hi every one
smile.png

so i have a 40 gallon tall aquarium (30inlong 12inwide 24intall) with a bio wheel 350 filter, a black painted, black sand, and driftwood. i was hoping to be able to add a female pink convict and a fire mouth. so my question is would it work without having to eventually upgrade the tank size and without aggression issues ? and if not what other colorful fish would my tank be suitable for ? thank you all for your help :)

Not sure if thats the best stocking for you tank.

Although 30 gallons is probably ok for a single pink convict but they are aggressive fish really from what I've read and can be difficult to look after.

Firemouths are beautiful fish and I'd quite like to have a pair of these one day but putting them in a 90 litre is the minimum tank size i would consider really.

Not sure if these can be kept singly but apparently :

"are not a overly aggressive cichlid, but still a cichlid nevertheless and not ideal for a community aquarium with small fish."
Thats from Seriously Fish website BTW.

Sorry can't be of more help as I have not kept cichlids before and no experience of them.

Good luck in your stocking plans.

what about 2 female electric blue rams and some australian rainbow fish

Convicts are fine on their own its when you get a breeding pair that's when they become aggressive

ik but i saw a electric blue ram in my pet store today and i have to have it lol ! so could i put in 2 female electric blue rams 3 male australian rainbow fish and 3 female australian rainbow fish

I don't see why not not had either but sure they will get along I think they both need high temp water, some correct me if in wrong
