I managed to find a local stockist of german blue rams today

so i went out and bought a pair of males and a pair of females

i also bought 2 peppered corys to go in with them ,im going to add maybe another 4 corys

the corys are really happy swimming all over but the rams are just getting used to it staying in 1 corner

i cant wait for them to find there terrotries

how long will it take them to find there own place ??

it will largely depend on the water quality they were kept in, in your LFS, and the water quality in your tank. most LFS don't do anything to their water apart from putting certain fish in certain tanks that certain fish seem to do better in. i know what i mean, i hope you do. anyways, if your water is better than they have been used to ie low nitrates and/or acidic soft water they will settle down in about 5 minutes. if the reverse they will probably die and if not much between it, it will take as long as it takes. if your tank is very large and the rams can avoid each other and still enjoy life, they may get on. but if one of them dies then the other rams will surly kill the odd one out. i'm sorry to sound matter of fact but this is my opinion. i dont mean anything bad

Hi, the corys are lovely fish but they do need to be in greater numbers, ie. 5-6. Also, most important, only in species so get yourself some more pep's :good:

yeah i will be adding another 4 pepps on tuesday

Lucky thing...I love getting new stock, specially cory but I am stocked up now.....maybe another tank  the missus has been buying a lot of clothes lately

newtotropical. in my opinion if a male and female ram pair up the female of the pair will turn on the other female and make her life a misery at best and kill her at worst
