3Ft Tank Build

You think the gouramis will be nice to them? They'd certainly look gorgeous in there.

Plenty of space and cover for them, the gourami tend to play in the top to mid tank......they may butt heads on occasion, but i don't anticipate long term issues

I need to trim the foreground, i have specifically grown it out longer than normal as i require some trimming for somewhere else....

So a pic of it pre trim.....i see the lotus has thrown a leaf, its reached the top now :)

What a beautiful and lush picture! I'd want to run my hands through all of it but that would just make a mess. :p

It is very thick and looks great, i'll trim it as soon as i can find my scissors lol

This tank is currently resemblance a wild jungle lol. I'll be taming it today as i have some new fish coming and dont want to have to put them in, then stress them some more by having my hands, tweezers and scissors in there lol

The cardinal/neon thread got me to thinking, so i did an ask on a local FB page if anyone knows where i can get some cheaply, and i got a reply from a friend (who i buy quite a few fish off) that he can get me some, soooooooooo, i am getting 20. They should look good in with the neons and gouramis.

I also just noticed the majority of the fish in this tanks are red and/or blue lol I have a theme happening it seems. Now if i can get my hands on a apisto super red pair! Hmmmmmmmmmm

Finally got in and trimmed the jungle back......made an absolute mess while i was at it, 1 hour to trim and 2 hours getting the HM trimmings out lol, Replanted some of the stems this time around, also planted some small bits around the tank to grow out (these will be moved to size suitable spots as they mature. The corner Red tiger lotus got all the surface leaves trimmed off, much to the disgust of the gouramis, but the plant was getting a bit leggy looking, so i need to keep them trimmed to get it to bush up a bit. The seconds smaller lotus is growing beautifully, lovely and compact still. Filled in a few barer spots with the HM also, wmay do some more later, its backbreaking to do it, so i only do it in little bits

Lovely job, I need some of that foreground plant you got there.
