In the coming month im picking up my new 125L and i intend to make quite a good scape im it, I’ve been looking into 3D background because I’ve never had them before but I’ve been told by my local fish shop that in the past one of the staff had had them and it produced algae behind it making it difficult to keep the levels right, has anybody else suffered with this and also how can it be prevented? Alls i can think of is completely sealing the background to the tank rather than just putting dots on the back, thanks

We use to seal all around the edges with silicon so no water could get behind them. And if you put a black backing on the outside of the tank (card or plastic), that stops any light getting behind it. But the main reason we silicone all around the edges was to stop fish getting caught behind it.
