to much hastle to fit, if not done correctly and gaps are left, dirt builds up, fish get trapped and it also takes away from your tank volume.

but, that said, some can look nice when done well.

I've got a 3D background in one of my tanks and it does look good. I'd do the rest if it wasn't such a pain to do, once the tank is set up.

I'll be looking at putting one onto my 4ft when i get it sorted, had a borrowed tank with a foam background that looked great..

Just got to make sure you silicone it in very well before filling with water.

I think theyre nicer than a stickon, but as above, they're only good if you do a good job. Do a shonky job, and you could be in for Ammonia spikes from dirt buildup, or fish getting stuck behind it, creating the same.

Ive not bothered due to expense, there're pretty pricey to do a whole 4ft, but if you can spare the time, effort and cash, well worth it IMO.

I have one in my signature tank below.

Wouldn't have anything else now. It does need to be fixed when the tank is new and before adding water.

I have the Juwel light grey Rockface, cost £30 a slice and I needed 2. Good investment I think, expense long forgotten but appearance effect is still well appreciated. :good:

I was advised that they look great at first, but after 2-3 years the materials starts to fall apart

Yes the cheap ones can. My Juwel Rockface is nearly 3 years old and still looks superb, mind you I do really look after my water :good:
