Hey all!

What would you stock a 36 gallon tank with? I would like at least 1 cichlid.

How about this:

10 rummynose tetra
8 adolfo's cory
6 rams

That might work, cause my dad loves rummynoses and i already have 2 rams. Anything else?

6 rams in a 30 inch tank is waaaay too many.

A trio of Apisto's or Nannacara would be better.

I think he ment 1 male 5 females, but im not sure.
Rams pair up to my knowledge, I don't think the male to female ratio would be worth while.

Tank seems like it'd be alright for a breeding pair of angels with some sorts of medium sized tetras, and corydoras on the substrate, if you're into angels.

Nope, I meant three pairs. As long as the tank is well planted and has stones and wood that can define territories they'll be fine.

I have 2 pairs in a 20 gallon tank and they're fine.

30 gallons is considered minimum for a pair, but 3 pairs in a 36? that's a lot!

2 pair in a 20 is pushing it a lot as well :shout:

Uhm... We are talkin imperial or us gallons?

It doesn't matter whether it is US or imperials... The height is what is giving this tank the volume. The floor is 30"x15" so 3 pairs in a tank that won't even give them a foot of territory each pair is ridiculous. Add into the equation the 'well planted' part and that is even less floor space. Buying 6 fish won't guarentee 3 pairs either.

Ah, yes, I hadn't seen the dimensions of the tank. Mine is quite shallow and I assumed the same, wrongly I may add.

Sorry, my bad.

Yes, I meant 3 males and 3 females. Then whatever actual pair may form let it form.

Oh well... Moot point anyway...
