I have recently purchased a 30 litre coldwater tank and wondered if anyone had any advice on whether it would be suitable for commet fish and how many,
thanks
john

If you mean commet goldfish these are very active and can grow very big I believe the recommended tank size is 10-20gallons for one fish is needed to accomadate it's adult size or bigger for more than 1

Only if it's about this size >-|-|-|-|-> and you plan on upgrading to a bigger tank once it has grown a little. The tank would be perfect for a betta though, just needs heated

30Litre tank is way too small for comet goldfish, comet goldfish can grow to 15inches+ long need need at least a 75gallon long just for one of these large growing goldfish, i have comet goldfish in one of my tanks and my largest is just under 10inches long and still growing.

For smaller fancy varieties of goldfish, ideally you need at least 20gallons for the first goldfish and 10 for every one after that, there are many types of goldfish which vary a lot in size and care;

Hay add a heater and add

-1 male betta
-5 rasbora
-3 cory catfish

more pretty than goldfish IMO (dont hate me)
