This is a very fun tank and I've been so excited since I got it. I have been decking it out in Egyptian, Roman and Greek Ruin Decor as my somewhat Atlantian appearance. The list of fish I have right now are as follows:
  • 1 "Dinosaur Eel" (Bichir species but don't know what)
  • 1 Bala Shark (Soon to be 3)
  • 1 Common Pleco (Soon to be 2)
  • 2 Blue Dwarf Gouramis

The Decor and The bubble wand make for quite an impressive tank. Let me know what you think. And if you have any info on the Petco Bichir species known as the "Dinosaur Eel"

I have a bichir in my 3ft tank and i have never seen them under the name dinosaur eel before.

Their are quite a few different species of bichir including:

The senegal bichir (polypterus senegalus)

the ornate bichir (polypterus ornatipinnis)

the armoured bichir (polypterus delhizi)

and Polypterus palmas and a subspecies of polypterus palmas.

All of them get quite big (over a foot) and are predatory so don't put any small tetras or guppies etc. in your tank.

Well, I guess I was wrong about it being a Bichir. Petco is naming this thing a "Dinosaur Eel" But CFC just told me it is actually a Dragon Goby. What's up with Petco and the stupid nicknames? They have like several Cats that they call Silvertip Sharks and different stuff like that. It would have been nice if they had any info on it at all. I just know the lady at Petco said it was a Bichir so here I am calling the damn thing a Bichir and treating it like one. That could have ended bad. But thank God I got the 411 and props to CFC for that. This is the pic of it by the way:

Yeah, how tall is your tank? I love it! I do like the atlantis feel to it. Keep up the good work!

The tank measures 26" in height, so it's not much different than like a 55 gal. The only thing is feeding the Dragon Goby with a Turkey Baster. You get half your arm wet just delivering it in front of his face! All in all I like my tank quite well. :D
