A number of year’s back I purchased plans for a 3 level (held 3 - 30 gallon tanks) stand from the classifieds in TFH. The plans were pretty straightforward and required lumber and bolts and some screws. I have since sold that stand and am now looking to build a new one. Since I am not the handiest guy I can't recall how it was built but was wondering if anyone has plans like this that they would be willing to share.

Cheers -

Let me know the tank sizes, here's some quick scribbles for a 3 level stand designed for a standard All-Glass 29 gallon.

I have 3 of these as doubles, I use the bottom for 5 gallon bucket storage.

Go to any lfs that sells stands, the fancy oak wood ones. Open the doors and look at what they are made of. They scare me, 1x3 & 1x4 construction. Mine are treated 2x4, with 3" & 4" deck screws. Each leg is holding 165 pounds, as a 29 weighs 330 pounds full. Wood has great compression strength, decks are made with 4x4 posts, houses are held with 6x6 posts.

http://www.fishforums.net/index.php?showtopic=183815&hl= shows the inside of some stands. I have a 72 with a stand like that, in the basement. The only stand upstairs is one I made myself for a 65, I don't trust commercially made stands. I'll post some inside pics once I get some batteries for the camera & it isn't going on midnight.

Those stands are part of my breeding setup, they get hosed with water, leaned on, and crawled underneath. Screws are checked for tightness, and stands are checked for level around once monthly. Here's a link to the way it was set up around a year ago; http://www.fishforums.net/index.php?showtopic=138615&hl=

I've since redone it, I'm a few tanks away from completion. Here's a couple newer pics;
