Hey this is my new tank that i got for free has been in a filthy attic for a while and i have cleaned it up and i am preparing it for my fish ! enjoy the pics.

I spray painted the top and bottom rims black and im gonna use a varnish on them of some sort.

Ive sprayed the rims black and put a 2nd layer + matt varnish on them gonna let them dry till tomorrow then i will put them on and post a pic the bottom part is water tight not sure what would happen if i filled it up tho xD i should have water in it by the weekend. Stay tuned folks !!!!

im goin with sand, my friend martin has given me his plants and sand from his old tank he is selling, unfortunately he didnt give me his angel fish lol! was thinkin about having dark sand to make my fish stand out but i wanna go for the natural look. despite the fake coral xD i have had to stuff all these plants in my small tank for the moment as my tank wont be inhabitable for a couple of weeks yet maybe sooner. just ordered me a nice filter

well first i need to level out the species i have atm so ill need 4 more tetras (2 neon 2 black) 3 more female platys to sort my male to female ratio and 4 more pepper corrydoras so there is 6 of them, coz they are happier in bigger shoals, thats the same reason for the extra tetras aswell. then im thinking about some rift valley cichlids but im not sure about that coz i dont know anything about them apart from they live in lake malawi and lake tanganyika in the rift valley and thats the only place in the world with them, wich makes them cool xD

Lake malawi and lake tanganyika chclinds can only really be kept with fish that are equally aggressive and are usually kept in species only tanks. A pair of dwarf chiclids like kribinsis or rams are much better suited to your tank size and other inhabitants.

Set up the tank today and put sand in then water but it is realy murky atm so im not gonna photograph it yet but i will get pics up soon

Oki i have pics of when it was murkey but i oredered my new filter and put some plants and algi covered things in there to help the water, spent a fortune on stupid aquasafe xD. there are lots of ihabitants already (snails) i think some of them are malasian trumpet snails, correct me if im wrong. the cave is thanks to JBeechey i am having a lid made out of aliminuim, will try and find pics of it on my phone anyway here are the pics so far.....

The white stuff is just a cover for the aluminium coz its being treated so it wont corrode. i think its gonna be sprayed black aswell again to stop it corroding and so it goes with the black rims on my tank should have it home soon, i think all thats left now is a heater and some lights to get so if you have anything for sale in the surrey area contact me thanks
