The majority of users on this forum seem to prefer the "natural" look in tanks, but I don't think there's anything wrong with the odd sunken ship, or helicopter. Go scuba dive in the South Pacific and you'll see fish swimming around exactly that type of thing! I actually liked both of your looks on that!
