on my 37g mbuna tank, i have a Whisper 60 dual cartridge filter. I want to add a 2nd filter purely for bio and physical filtration... i'm not going to use any carbon in this 2nd filter at all. Which is the best HOB for this?

Aquaclear or Penguin Biowheel?

I heard the penguins can be noisy, but some say the biowheel itself is revolutionary.

and I've heard Aquaclear's are just excellent filters, so i'm leaning toward Aquaclear with 2 sponges and the biomax on top.

ideally, i'd like something i hardly ever, or even never have to change the filter media, just clean it from time to time in tank water during water changes. i've heard the Aquaclears are ideal for that.

what do you all think?

I have 3 aquaclears, and they would be great for what you need. I run two sponges and biomax on top in all 3 of mine. Every few weeks I just take the media basket out and rinse it in old tank water and put it back in.
